Alienware 13 OLED still is the undisputed winner for being the best gaming laptop to have even for 2017. The year 2016 has seen several laptops aimed for professional and heavy gamers. Many attempted, some came close but not as close to moving Alienware 13 out of the top spot.

According to CNET, the Alienware 13 OLED has an overall impressive rating of 8.3 out of possible 10 points. It has been measured in four different categories. To provide the rankings breakdown, the gaming laptop scored 8 in design, 9 for its features, 8 for performance, and 6 for battery life. Battery life performance is somehow forgivable especially for laptops aimed to be used mainly for gaming.
The new redesigned version of this gaming laptop has met all requirements of an avid gamer such as Dan Ackerman who leads CNET's coverage of laptops, desktops, and Windows tablets. He said if he is looking for a laptop, he'd be looking for a small and reasonably portable laptop, better graphics for gaming, VR compatibility, OLED display, and high-resolution touch screen.
As he got to have his hands on Alienware 13 OLED, all of his requirements were met which makes a big leap form the former versions of the laptop. This is definitely good news for gamers as, like Ackerman, they should also be looking for the same requirements for their desired gaming laptop.
The highlight of this gaming laptop is Nvidia's new GeForce 1060 graphics card. It is part of the new generation that can fit in a wide range of laptops that works with VR. He hooked up his Oculus Rift with Alienware 13 OLED and it has worked.
As added by Laptop, the Alienware 13 OLED notched 6.8 on the StreamVR performance test, matching the thin and light average. It emerged better in terms of performance when compared to P55W's 6.6. however, Stealth Pro is the ultimate winner with 7.4.
The Alienware 13 OLED is equipped with 2.6-GHz Intel Core i7 6700HQ processor with 16GB of RAM. This means that there are no known problems when streaming an episode of Black Mirror. The test was also conducted with 15 other Chrome tabs simultaneously opened.
The Alienware 13 OLED is definitely the gaming laptop to beat. While competitors are still trying their best to oust this gaming laptop on top, it still remains a must-have even for this new year.
